UK PPI Output (MoM)
Published:
UK Producer Price Index — output prices, monthly change
Full explanation
UK PPI Output (MoM) is the percentage change from the previous month in the Office for National Statistics (ONS) producer price index for the prices of goods sold by UK manufacturers (output or factory-gate prices). It is the headline output measure, not the core measure, and is not input prices paid for materials and fuels.
Why traders watch it
Producer prices signal cost pressures on UK manufacturers that may pass through to consumer inflation and Bank of England policy.
Stronger vs weaker outcomes
A higher-than-expected reading points to stronger price pressure; a lower reading points the other way.
