Brazilian PPI (MoM)

Brazil Producer Price Index (IPP) — monthly change
Full explanation
Brazilian PPI (MoM) is the monthly percentage change in IBGE's Producer Price Index (Índice de Preços ao Produtor, IPP) for the mining and manufacturing industries, measuring prices received by producers excluding taxes and freight. It is published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). It is not the FGV IGP indices.
Why traders watch it
Producer prices signal cost pressure that can feed into consumer inflation and Banco Central do Brasil policy expectations.
Stronger vs weaker outcomes
A higher-than-expected reading points to stronger price pressure; a lower reading points the other way.
